What are energy ratings?
Window Energy Ratings (WER) are a guide to the energy efficiency of your windows. The British Fenestration Ratings Council (BFRC) checks all the parts of the window and then grades its performance accordingly. The scale goes from A+ – G , with ‘A’ being the most efficient, and ‘G’ the least. The latest Building Regulations require all new homes to have windows with a minimum ‘C’ WER rating.
The benefits of energy efficient windows
Did you know that around 20% of heat escaping from a home is lost through its windows? Just imagine how much old, draughty windows might be adding to your heating costs. We understand that buying replacement windows for you home is a big investment, and that’s why it’s important to get it right. Energy efficient windows with double glazing – or even triple glazing – will not only fill your home with natural light but keep your home secure and warm for years and years to come.
